Leadership in context...

‘The way to sustain commitment in a person, and develop their talents, is to encourage them through feed back, praise and enthusiasm’.

Supervision Print E-mail

Bright Side work has been formally supervised since 2002.  We believe that it is an ethical imperative for executive coaches to receive consultation and supervision in relation to their client work as well as for their personal development.

Georgina is supervised by Dr David Campbell MA PhD, author, academic, organisational consultant & lead clinical psychologist at the Tavistock Clinic in London.

David Campbell originally trained as a clinical psychologist before specialising in organisational consultancy.  He has been a pioneer in developing systemic thinking and applying it to working with teams and services, mainly in the public sector.

His current model of consultation is based on the use of Positioning Theory and the creation of meaining by taking positions along a semantic polarity.  He has published widely over many years and his most recent volumes areTaking Positions in the Organisation (Campbell & Groenbaek, 2006) and Organisations Connected: A Handbook of Systemic Consultation (Campbell & Huffington, 2008, in press [eds]) - for which Georgina Noakes & Myrna Gower from Bright Side have contributed a chapter entitled Coaching Lawyers to Lead.  Both books and a full range of other titles by David are available from www.karnacbooks.com

Some of David's recent work includes:

  • Team building for a Mental Health Trust
  • Strategic Development for an Education Centre in the voluntary sector
  • Coaching a range of senior executives
  • Large scale consultation to an entire religious community
  • Designing & advising for graduate selection at a multi national corporation
