Connection with Professor John Adair

World renowned author on leadership

John Adair is a prolific author and academic on leadership and has been described as ‘one of the foremost thinkers on leadership in the world’ by Sir John Harvey-Jones.  Recently the People’s Republic of China awarded him the title of Honorary Professor in recognition of his ‘outstanding research and contribution in the field of Leadership’.  Since 2009, John has been Chair of Leadership Studies at the United Nations System Staff College in Turin.

Georgina first met John in 1990 when she was a guest teacher on the MBA programme at the University of Exeter.  Since the early 2000’s, John, who lives close by, has been a mentor and friend to Georgina as they have shared many a long conversation at his dining room table.  His ideas and thinking have had a substantial effect on Georgina’s work with leaders and their teams and they sometimes collaborate on specific projects.

As an Honorary Fellow, one of its wise elders, and an original architect of what became Windsor Leadership’s inspirational leadership programmes at St George’s House, Windsor Castle, it was John who introduced Georgina to this extraordinary charity in 2004.
